Objetive:
This is one of four tutor-lead courses which provide the participants with the
opportunity to improve their linguistic skills in the areas of speaking, listening,
reading and writing. The course is designed for professional people who have reached an
intermediate level of English and who need to up-grade their writing skills for specific
business situations.
Method:
Business Writing Skills makes use of a wide
range of teaching materials and methods to ensure that each part of the course is both
relevant and enjoyable. In order to ensure optimum use of the available time and at the
same time maximum variety and enjoyment, there is a team of teachers, with changes every
two or three sessions, according to the format of the course. The material focusses on the
subjects that have greatest relevance for professional people in the international
workplace such as : letters, e-mails, memos, agendas, minutes and reports.
The following
areas of grammar and style are also covered:

Verbs: verb tenses commonly used in
business writing.

Vocabulary : including prefixes and
suffixes, articles, demonstratives, compound nouns, comparatives and superlatives.

Fluency: including the use of relative
clauses and connectives.

Organisation of information and patterns of
organisation : from general to particular, time sequence etc.

Clarity : register.
The programme also includes Self-study with
additional exercises. Access to a complete grammar reference covering all the structures
studied during the course is also provided.
Level:
Taking into account the characteristics of the course participants should
have an intermediate or upper-intermediate level of English.

40 hours.

the company premises or at King's Training (Madrid/Barcelona).
Timetable:
By agreement, with a minumum of 4 hours per day.

Between 6 and 10 participants.
